Concept Store Hamburg

A flexible space for presenting design objects, fashion, books and magazines as well as hosting events and meetings are the requests for a new 130 m2. concept store in central Hamburg. The room of the store will appear in its most basic form. Wallpapers, plaster walls and ceilings have been removed to expose the raw inner walls. The reestablishment has only happened through subtraction. No materials have been added.

As a contrary to the raw house, precious large scale furniture in oak, brass and brown leather is installed to host the presentation facilities of the concept store. The five “facades” of the furniture consist of five different utilities. One side can open and shift out shelves and hangers. One side shows smaller design objects and at the same time forms a window and entrance to the inner meeting room, accessible when the shelves and hangers are folded out. One side can open into the dressing rooms. The last side contains bookshelves forming a staircase to the top where you find a comfortable hammock for reading and lounging.

The walls and doors of the large furniture can open up for sale during the day and fold back to create space for events.
